This September, The Loft Cinema celebrates the wild world of Quentin Tarantino with special screenings of all eight of his groundbreaking feature films, as well as one of his “screenplay only” films. A movie-mad maverick with an utterly distinctive, instantly recognizable filmmaking style (as well as a patented love of ultra-verbose, often hilariously profane, dialogue) Tarantino reaches into the most far-flung corners of film history for inspiration, throwing wildly disparate genres, styles and characters into the movie blender to create his bold, outrageous and always entertaining cinematic concoctions.

“When people ask me if I went to film school, I tell them no, I went to films.” – Quentin Tarantino

From Spaghetti Westerns to Film Noirs to Blaxploitation action flicks, nothing is off limits when it comes to a Tarantino film. The former-video-store-clerk-turned-Oscar-winning filmmaker blasted his way onto movie screens in 1992 with the cleverly brutal, low budget heist thriller Reservoir Dogs, and hit the Hollywood big time with his second film, 1994’s Pulp Fiction, arguably the most influential film of the decade (and this year celebrating its 20th anniversary!). From the epic action of the Kill Bill saga to the disreputable pleasures of Grindhouse to the controversial revisionism of his most recent work Django Unchained, Quentin Tarantino has yet to run out of ways to shock, surprise and satisfy an audience.
