With EO, legendary filmmaker Jerzy Skolimowski (The Deep End, Moonlighting) has created one of his spryest, most visually inventive films, following the travels of a peripatetic donkey named EO. After being removed from the only life he’s ever known in a traveling circus, EO begins a journey across the Polish and Italian countryside, experiencing cruelty and kindness, captivity and freedom. Skolimowski imagines the animal’s mesmerizing journey as a series of vignettes, moving through an ever-shifting interior landscape, marked by absurdity and warmth in equal measure. Throughout, we experience the world through the unique perspective of our donkey guide (played by six different equines named Taco, Ola, Marietta, Ettore, Rocco and Mela).
