Calling all villagers with pitchforks! It’s DUMB FRANKENSTEIN MONTH at Mondo Mondays, celebrating the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelly’s literary creation with a re-animated array of fun-loving Frankie Flicks you’ll just be dying to see!
“It reaches from the grave to re-live the horror, the terror! More destructive! More terrifying!” Dr. Frankenstein’s demented grandson, cleverly using the alias “Dr. Frank,” is alive and well and living in modern-day (circa 1958) Los Angeles, where he’s up to his eyeballs in bad movie antics, like creating a melty-faced, teen girl monster in a rubber suit who goes on a killing rampage and grooves to boss rock ‘n’ roll music!
“Just plain nutty … a great ‘50s schlockfest and a heck of a lot of fun.” – Creepy Classics
A notorious, Ed Wood-level exercise in awfulness, Frankenstein’s Daughter is a riotous pile-up of bad acting, ludicrous storytelling, jaw-dropping make-up effects and embarrassing music (just try not to do The Twist when Pete Cavanaugh and his Trio perform their rockin’ non-hits, “Daddy Bird” and “Special Date,” for a pool party of elderly teens). A bewildering and highly entertaining non-classic that thoroughly trashes the Frankenstein legend, from the director of She-Demons and Missile to the Moon! (Dir. by Richard Cunha, 1958, USA, 85 mins., Not Rated)
