Home Alone

Playing out like a live-action cartoon wrapped in Christmas lights, Home Alone is the ultimate wish-fulfillment fantasy for every kid who ever dreamed of running wild with no parents in sight. Eight-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) has become the man of the house overnight. Accidentally left behind when his family rushes off on a Christmas vacation to France, Kevin takes the opportunity to run amuck in a junk food-fueled frenzy before getting busy decorating the house for the holidays. But he’s not decking the halls with tinsel and holly. Two bumbling burglars called The Wet Bandits (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) are trying to break in, and Kevin’s rigging a bewildering battery of booby traps to welcome them, using every weapon in his kid arsenal to thwart these brain dead crooks who have set their sights on Casa McCallister. Written and produced by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone), this madcap slapstick adventure, one of the biggest comedies of all-time, has become a true holiday classic.
