Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade / Father’s Day Screening!

Yes, the man with the hat is back, and this time, he’s bringing his dad! In Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the third installment in the massively-popular Spielberg/Lucas Indiana Jones series, the world’s favorite whip-wielding archeologist is once again battling those nasty Nazis as he searches for that holy grail of all archeological finds … the actual Holy Grail! In a fast-paced prologue, we meet the young Indy (played by the late River Phoenix), who, via a pulse-pounding adventure that plays out like a mini-movie in and of itself, displays the roots of his taste for adventure, fear of snakes, and dogged determination to take historical artifacts out of the hands of bad guys and into the museums in which they belong. A grown-up Indy (Ford) reveals himself shortly afterward in a classroom, circa 1938, teaching archeology to a disproportionate number of starry-eyed female college students. Once again, however, Indy is drawn away from his day job when a rich art collector propositions him to find the much sought after Holy Grail. When Indy discovers that his father, the avid archeologist Dr. Henry Jones (Connery), has recently gone missing while searching for the famed cup of Christ, our whip-snapping, fedora-wearing hero is on the case. Following in his father’s footsteps, Indy discovers a sinister plot involving swastika-wearing bad guys, and he must save his father from the Nazis who have kidnapped him, while also avoiding the dangerous allure of an extremely fatal femme fatale named Elsa. Soon the bickering father/son Jones team find themselves in a globe-trotting adventure filled with impossible battles and death-defying escapes before coming face-to-face with one of the most powerful legends in human history. Pure fun from start to finish, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is one of the best father/son-centered adventures of all time, and a certified blast on the big screen!
