Llyn Foulkes One Man Band

The feature documentary Llyn Foulkes One Man Band follows painter and musician Llyn Foulkes (dubbed “The Most Famous Artist You’ve Never Heard Of”) from ages 70 – 77 as he struggles to be acknowledged for his considerable achievements. During the seven years chronicled in the film, Foulkes creates, destroys and recreates a pair of large-scale, three-dimensional paintings, which costs him his marriage, all while trying to keep a toe hold in the art market. Propelled by commentary from Dennis Hopper and George Herms, the film reveals how Foulkes has avoided “selling his soul,” setting the tone not only for the next 50 years of his uncompromising, up-and-down career, but also for the international art world at last rediscovering him at the age of 77.
