When their plan to book a show at the Rivoli goes horribly wrong, Matt and Jay accidentally travel back to the year 2008. Blah blah blah blah blah.  The riotously hilarious web series from the minds of Matt Johnson (BlackBerry) and Jay McCarrol has been brought to the big screen in a mockumentary of epic proportions. As fictionalized caricatures of themselves, Matt and Jay are on a quixotic quest to finally land a show for their band, “Nirvanna the Band,” at Toronto’s illustrious bar, Rivoli, despite not having a single song to their name. Desperate to land the gig, they hatch an elaborate publicity stunt – one that goes spectacularly awry and sends them back in time to 2008. Now stranded, they must find a way to get back to the future or risk being stuck forever. Equal parts nostalgia trip and buddy comedy, Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie is a delightfully absurd and shamelessly uninhibited satire that delivers a time-bending misadventure proving some dreams are too ridiculous to ever die.
