“I love this film! It’s a warm and wonderful tribute to my dear friend, Gene. Don’t miss it!”  – Mel Brooks

This loving tribute to Gene Wilder celebrates his life and legacy as the comic genius behind an extraordinary string of film roles, from his collaborations with Mel Brooks in hilarious classics like The Producers, Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein, to the enigmatic title role in the original Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, to his inspired on-screen partnership with Richard Pryor in movies like the shot-in-Arizona comedy Stir Crazy. The film is illustrated by a bevy of touching and hilarious clips and outtakes, never-before-seen home movies, narration from Wilder’s audiobook memoir, and interviews with a roster of brilliants friends and collaborators like Mel Brooks, Alan Alda and Carol Kane. Remembering Gene Wilder shines a light on a one-of-a-kind performer, writer, director, Oscar-nominee and all-around mensch. (Dir. by Ron Frank, 2024, USA, 92 mins., Not Rated)
