Riddle of Fire

This dreamy neo-fairytale follows a gang of three mischievous children, who call themselves the Three Immortal Reptiles, as they embark on an odyssey through rural Wyoming when their mother asks them to run an errand. On the hunt to obtain her favorite blueberry pie, the dirt bike-riding kids are kidnapped by poachers, run afoul of an enigmatic coven, battle a witch, outwit a huntsman, befriend a fairy, and bond together to become best friends forever. Amblin’ through a gauntlet of genres and cult-film references, this utterly unique concoction, gorgeously shot on 16mm Kodak film and possessing an oddball nostalgic vibe that has been described as “Wes Anderson’s Gummo,” captures the magical feeling of a 1970s summer vacation adventure in which anything is possible.
