Two children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing, and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished. While they decide to wait for the grown-ups to return, they realize they’re not alone, and a strange voice beckons them. With his debut feature, Skinamarink, Canadian filmmaker Kyle Edward Ball plunges us deep into an endless night of primal childhood fear, crafting an expressionistic, experimental and deeply unsettling vision of horror that seems to watch you even as you watch it. (Dir. by Kyle Edward Ball, 2022, Canada, 100 mins., Not Rated)
