What’s this? What’s this? It’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Movie Party! Join Jack Skellington as he tries to save Christmas in this big screen presentation of Tim Burton’s ghoulishly fun holiday classic, featuring a costume contest (wear your best movie-themed or holiday-themed duds) and fun props to use during the movie. We’ll also sing-a-long to all the movie’s catchy tunes as we party with Sandy Claws and put a little Halloween into your Christmas this year!
All proceeds from this screening will benefit the Tucson-based organization Friends of Aphasia, in memory of Oscar-nominated The Nightmare Before Christmas cinematographer/visual effects artist Pete Kozachik (1951-2023), whose many film credits also include Coraline, Corpse Bride and James and the Giant Peach.
The terrifically-twisted extravaganza The Nightmare Before Christmas, from producer Tim Burton and director Henry Selick, is a delectable witch’s brew of stop-motion animation, catchy tunes and seriously oddball imagination – a devilish delight for the whole Addams Family! Bored with the same old scare-and-scream routine, Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, longs to spread the joy of Christmas. But his merry mission puts Santa in jeopardy and creates a nightmare for good little boys and girls everywhere! Can Christmas be saved? Featuring the voices of Danny Elfman, Catherine O’Hara, Chris Sarandon and Paul Reubens. (Dir. by Henry Selick, 1993, USA, 76 mins., Rated PG)
