The Madrean Archipelago Wildlife Center Fundraiser offers Three Films for our Borderlands:
Ducey’s Boondoggle contrasts with images, words and music, today’s hideous ironies in the Coronado National Forest along the U.S.– Mexico border. Fusing images from a two hour visit to Camp Ocelot, base camp for the resistance movement, the film documents with rage, wit and even humor, a ludicrous wall constructed of shipping containers. (Dir. by Tony Heath, 2022, USA, 9 mins., G)
A Wall Runs Through It shares the shipping container travesty through the stories and documentation of Border Wall Resistance activists. A film by students from the ASU School of Sustainability and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. (Dir. by Makepeace Sitlhou, Trilce Estrada Olvera, and Hakob Karapetyan, 2023, USA, 9 mins., G)
Prayer Run documents a 60-mile run by youth of the Brophy Native American Club and tribal members who unite in prayer for Oak Flat, a San Carlos Apache sacred site threatened with destruction by the Resolution Copper mining project. A film by ASU students. (Dir. by John Leos, Nellija Locmele, Tyler Bender and Megan Swing, 2023, USA, 10 mins., G)
This is a rental of The Loft Cinema, presented by The Madrean Archipelago Wildlife Center.
