Undefeatable

All this month, Mondo Mondays kicks it with B-movie action queen CYNTHIA ROTHROCK, and the bad guys had better beware!

“When the shadow of a serial killer falls, the terror starts!” In this, the crown jewel of Cynthia Rothrock action flicks, our favorite street fighting sister stars as Kristi Jones, a diner waitress who partakes in Mafia-run street fights to pay for her sister’s college education.

“Hilariously deranged … Undefeatable is insane fun at its finest.” – Comeuppance Reviews

Which is something we can ALL relate to. But hunky copy Nick DiMarco (John Miller, who chewed the scenery as the insane bad guy opposite Rothrock in Honor and Glory) catches on and attempts to break up the illegal fights. Meanwhile, a psychotic underground fighter and facial gymnast known only as “Stingray” (Don Niam, whose wildly unhinged performance catapults him directly into the bad movie history books), allows the macho bullshit of his fights to cross over into his marriage. Distraught, his wife’s psychiatrist advises she leave him, which sends Stingray on a murderous rampage. He spray-paints red stripes in his hair and goes after any woman who resembles his wife, Anna – which means no brunette in a floral print dress is safe! When Stingray crosses Kristi’s brunette-haired, floral print-wearing, college-attending sister, all bets are off, and it’s up to Kristi and Officer DiMarco to put an end to Stingray’s stinging. A truly spectacular, consistently hilarious action trainwreck featuring what easily ranks as one of the best bad movie fight scenes ever, built around a three-way battle with more knife- licking, shirt-shredding and eyeball-impaling than should be legally allowed in one movie, Undefeatable is quite simply, unbeatable. (Dir. by Godfrey Ho, 1993, USA, 90 mins., Rated R)
