With filmmakers in attendance for a post-screening Q&A!
This year’s documentary showcase from the UA School of Theatre, Film & Television features 10 new short films exploring diverse subjects and styles. The program includes intimate profiles of a Chinese immigrant chef and devoted father; a kindergarten teacher active in the Red for Ed movement; an articulate trio of trans women of color; a Syrian refugee adapting to her new life in Tucson; an immigrant family caught up in the convoluted documentation process; and an independent musician struggling to complete his latest album. From a midwife-assisted birth to the work of a local horse rescue facility, a student launching a new campus club, and a look into the addictive seductions of e-cigarettes, this year’s eclectic slate of films features something for everyone. (Various directors, 2018, USA, approximately 120 minutes, Not Rated)
