“Eight out of ten aliens agree … Earth Girls Are Easy!” Welcome to 1988, the perfect year to release a goofy, low-fi, sci-fi, New Wave comedy musical about three hair-covered, romance-challenged aliens (played by Jeff Goldblum, Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans!) who crash land on Earth and get an L.A. Valley Girl make-over from Geena Davis and Julie Brown before hitting the town and looking for cosmic love – let the party begin! In Earth Girls Are Easy, Geena Davis (the same year she starred in Beetlejuice and won an Oscar for The Accidental Tourist!) stars as Valerie Gail, a San Fernando Valley manicurist who works at the Curl Up & Dye salon and is fed up with her deadbeat fiancé, Dr. Ted Gallagher. Enter three love-starved aliens – Mac (Jeff Goldblum), Wiploc (Jim Carrey) and Zeebo (Damon Wayons) – who make their Earthly debut by crash landing their spaceship into Valerie’s swimming pool.  Naturally, Valerie and her best pal, Candy Pink (the hilarious Julie Brown, who also co-wrote the screenplay, and who gets to sing the classic Valley Girl anthem, Because I’m a Blonde), give the E.T’s totally rad Earth dude makeovers, and then the cross-species hijinks begin! Part MTV-infused weirdness, part quasi-musical, part romantic comedy, and ALL ‘80s awesomeness – it’s all neon pinks, blues and yellows that look a Spencer’s Gifts, a Chess King and a Contempo store exploded after being doused with Bartles & Jaymes wine coolers – Earth Girls Are Easy proves that when you’re looking for love, just look up into the sky and Jeff Goldblum will be there!
