In Jacmel, Haiti, prostitute Marie Madeleine (played by director Gessica Geneus) lives freely outside society’s rules. When she meets Joseph, a devout evangelical believer, an unlikely bond forms. Joseph is caught between worlds when his father opens a church across the street from Marie’s brothel, setting the stage for explosive confrontations between desire and freedom.
Directed by Gessica Geneus, 2026, Haiti, in French and Haitian with English subtitles, 104 minutes, NR
