Switch on and power up for HI-TECH HORROR MONTH at Mondo Mondays, featuring terrifically trashy tales of technology gone wrong … so very wrong!

“Where shopping can cost you an arm and a leg!” A bunch of fun-loving teens are about to learn what “shop till you drop” really means when their after-hours party at the local shopping mall is crashed by murderously malfunctioning robots who have been programmed to drill, kill and spill (blood, that is!), in this deliriously entertaining B-movie horror classic! In Chopping Mall (aka Killbots), a gaggle of ‘80s exploitation faves including Kelli Maroney (Night of the Comet), Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator) and Russell Todd (Friday the 13th Part II) try to survive a night in the Park Plaza Mall when the building’s state-of-the-art security devices (aka ROBOTS!) are accidentally turned into automated killing machines thanks to an electrical short circuit that makes them want to turn horny teenage party animals into food court roadkill! Let the sex, shopping and exploding heads begin!  If the sight of wobbly, rampaging robots on wheels firing deadly laser beams at frantic actors as they race through the Sherman Oaks Galleria (the same mall immortalized in Fast Times at Ridgemont High) doesn’t get your “bad movie juices” flowing, then perhaps nothing ever will. A glorious double-cheese pizza of a movie from the director of Dinosaur Island and The Return of Swamp Thing! (Dir. by Jim Wynorksi, 1986, 97 mins., Rated R)
