Everytime is a portrait of a family facing a shocking loss after the teenaged Jessie falls to her death during a night of heavy partying at a Berlin high-rise.  Her mother, younger sister and boyfriend share guilt, shame and forgiveness when, one year later, they take holiday together that shifts between memory, reality and fantasy. Everytime depicts its characters grasping at straws as they look for ways to resurrect Jessie in the digital age. Director Sandra Wollner eschews platitudes of grief narratives to sit with the painful contradictions of moving forward through loss, finding a strange, empathetic visual language to hold them.
