Take a spectacular voyage into mythical monster mayhem at a special big screen presentation of the 1958 fantasy classic THE 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD, featuring incredible special effects by the legendary Ray Harryhausen!
Co-presented by The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures, whose current exhibit, Ray Harryhausen: Miniature Models of the Silver Screen, runs through May 3, 2026!
Special effects legend Ray Harryhausen is the real hero of this eye-popping Technicolor fantasy, inspired by the Arabian Nights exploits of legendary adventurer, Sinbad the Sailor. This colorfully imaginative tale finds Sinbad and his crew battling an evil sorcerer over a magic lamp, endangering Sinbad’s bride-to-be, Princess Parisa, in the process. To save his beloved Princess, the sea-faring Sinbad must travel to a dangerous, far away island populated by a menagerie of astonishing monsters sprung from Harryhausen’s creature-feature imagination, and brought to thrilling life through glorious stop-motion animation: the horned Cyclops, cobra-woman, two-headed Roc, skeleton warrior, and fire-breathing dragon. Featuring a rousing score by Bernard Herrmann, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad is an awe-inspiring showcase for Harryhausen’s signature “Dynamation” technique, and a dazzling delight for moviegoers of all ages! (Dir. by Nathan Juran, 1958, USA/UK, 89 mins., Rated G)
