The Crow

 “In a world without justice, one man was chosen to protect the innocent.” The night before his Halloween wedding, rock musician Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) and his fiancée, Shelly (Sofia Shinas), are brutally murdered by members of a violent Detroit gang. On the one-year anniversary of their deaths, Eric rises from the grave and assumes the gothic mantle of the Crow, a supernatural avenger. Tracking down the thugs responsible for the crimes and mercilessly murdering them, Eric eventually confronts head gangster Top Dollar (Michael Wincott) to complete his macabre mission.  Directing splatterpunk author David J. Schow’s and horror/sci-fi writer John Shirley’s adaptation of James O’Barr’s cult-favorite comics series, first-time feature director Alex Proyas (Dark City) drenches The Crow in mesmerizing noir-horror atmosphere, providing the perfect backdrop for Brandon Lee’s galvanizing, iconic performance as the vengeful Eric Draven.
