The Prestige

In Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan’s twisty thriller set in 19th-century London, an illusion gone horribly wrong pits two rival magicians, Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) and Rupert Angier (Hugh Jackman), against each other in a bitter battle for supremacy.  The two are partners until the tragic death of an assistant during a show, leading to a bitter feud after one of them performs the ultimate magic trick – teleportation. Terrible consequences loom when the pair escalate their personal battle in a deadly game of one-upmanship, as one magician desperately tries to uncover the secret of his rival’s routine, experimenting with dangerous new science as his quest takes him to the brink of insanity and jeopardizes the lives of everyone around them.
